George Assali:FSO-VE - Vessel Examinations
George has been a member of the USCG Aux since early 2006. In May 2006, he was appointed as FSO-VE (Vessel Examiner), and has served in that capacity since, and, starting in 2008, has taken on additional responsibility as the Division Staff Officer (SO) for Vessel Examinations. He has received several awards, including the Flotilla Commander Award, and the District award for the most Vessel Exams performed in 2006 by any individual in District 11SR. He is currently working to complete his ICS certifications and Boat Crew training, including PWC certification. He also participates in the Marine Safety Program, and is pursuing the Harbor Safety Patrol and Container Examiner certifications. George also recently became part of a new, very important joint Auxiliary-Gold Side program, when he obtained the Coast Guard Translator certification for Arabic.
George loves the ocean and currently owns a beautiful 40-ft MotorYacht called the "Bad Boys". He also enjoys educating the public how to operate their vessel safely and wisely. Promoting safety is his #1 priority, as an Auxiliarist.
